Armory Product Demos

Armory's Platform is comprised of four layers of value. At the Core is the minimum set of developer tooling a company needs to achieve "Stage 3" -- Continuous Delivery of software. Powering the Core is our enterprise distribution of Spinnaker, the continuous delivery platform that codifies the software delivery best practices that put Netflix and Google a decade ahead of most other companies.

However, every company has a Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) that spans from "idea," through "feature is in production generating revenue," which encompasses much more than just the actual continuous delivery of software.

Armory's Platform helps companies understand and optimize their entire SDLC to help them ship better software, faster.

Below are a series of product demos to help you get a feel for Armory-specific functionality across the entire SDLC before kicking the tires (If you're ready to install Armory, you can do so by following our install guide).

Pipelines as Code

(Currently in GA, in Platform 18.5)
Pipelines as Code allows you to store Spinnaker pipeline template definitions in Git, inherit reusable modules, and keep your Spinnaker pipelines sync'd with your repo.

Automated Canaries with Kayenta

(Currently in Alpha, in Platform 18.5)
In this demo, we'll show you the Kayenta UI and how it works with Spinnaker to enable automated canaries. (You can learn more about Kayenta here).

JIRA Stage

(Currently in Alpha, in Platform 18.5)
Use Armory's custom JIRA stages to automatically update a JIRA ticket when your feature is deployed to an environment.

SLA Notifications + Armory Slack Bot

(Currently in Alpha, in Platform 18.5)
Deploying with velocity is only half of the equation - you must be able to deploy safely as well, and understanding your service's SLA is the first step because you can't improve what you don't measure. This feature allows you to define an SLA contract using custom metrics in CloudWatch or DataDog, and when an SLA breakage occurs, you'll be notified in Slack and given the option to rollback the latest deployment.

1-Click App Creation

(Currently in Alpha, Platform 18.5)
In this demo, we'll show you how to create a new service with one click. This feature automates many of the tasks required to support a new service (like creating a Github repo, generating a Jenkins file, creating a Spinnaker pipeline, etc) so that you can focus on writing code.

Armory's Spinnaker Configuration UI

(Available in GA in Platform 17.12)
Use the configuration UI to manage Spinnaker configuration files without having to hand-edit them.

Upgrading Spinnaker

(Available in GA in Platform 17.12)
Armory uses a Spinnaker Deploys Spinnaker pipeline to upgrade itself. Here's a short demo video that shows how that process works.

Basic Spinnaker Functionality

(Available in GA in Platform 17.12)
This demo covers the following Spinnaker functionality: creating a pipeline, triggering a pipeline, blue/green deployments, and rollbacks.
